The name roughly translates to “pure jasmine” because of the pristine white colour of the rice and it is an aromatic rice variety too. It is widely used for making idly and dosa batters rather than boiled. It is believed to strengthen our nervous system and internal organs. This traditional paddy variety is resistant to pests and doesn’t need pesticides. The multifold vitamins present in the rice will help in good skin health.
