Kerala Kudampuli/ Malabar Tamarind
Kudampuli is to Kerala what Tamarind is to Tamilnadu. The sour and sweet taste of the kudampuli makes it suitable for fish curry and seafood that needs a sour taste. Along with cooking, it is being used for treating stomach ulcers and arthritis, in Ayurvedic Medicine. It also helps in easing digestive issues and regulates blood cholesterol levels. The pulpy fruit is dried completely before any usage.
